Grouper Iridovirus (GIV) is a commonly found virus in anthropods, amphibians, and fish. GIV infects highly valued fish in aquaculture industry, causing vast economic loss. GIV infection is also known as the “Sleepy Grouper Disease” of which the sick fish has high mortality with no visible signs. Virus outbreak can occur from small fry to adult.
